Todd Ashley Hodulik pronounced (Hud-Lick) was born in Encino, CA and grew up in Palos Verdes. Unlike most young musicians who were inspired by rock or punk guitarists, Hodulik found inspiration in the playing of Pat Metheny, Pat Martino and improvisational music. Not long after discovering Jerry Garcia, Hodulik incorporated a massive sound into his live playing by using a combination of Leslie speakers, vintage Fender amps and an assortment of old-school analog pedals along with his 335. Upon graduating from high school he spent a few years playing and touring with several SoCal rock & funk bands before settling into Musician's Institute where he earned a degree from G.I.T.
If you ask him why he plays, he'll reply "music is my passion and I'm really lucky to be doing it for a living" and that the best part about being a full-time musician is that he "doesn't have to have a day job (knock on wood)".
So far, he is keeping that dream alive. Aside from recording his first release (which he describes as "nylon string contemporary ruff jazz"), he plays 4 to 7 nights a week around SoCal with his band and is often flown around the country to perform with a jazz group. He relies on his Rick Turner RN-6 Nylon String, Weber mandolin, Fender USA Strat, Gibson L4 and ES335.
